  This guy is a pathetic excuse for a human being. You can't buy your way out of this one and you surely aren't getting reelected. You have destroyed your political career. Does it make you feel good to hurt a family so much? Karma will come through in the end. Aren't you even the least bit curious about what HUMAN actually bit that kid. Or are they lining your pockets to overlook the child abuse? You are a sad and pathetic excuse for a human being and the only thing you should do is resign and move out of town. No money will ever be spent by me or anyone I know in your pathetic state again.

  Salem, Mo., Mayor Gary Brown is lying when he says there is nothing he can do about the death sentence he himself imposed on Phineas because “it’s in the courts” ("Teeth say Phineas didn’t bite girl," July 19). The parties to lawsuits keep matters in the courts, not the courts themselves. Missouri Revised Statute 79.220 specifically gives Mayor Brown the power to “grant reprieves and pardons” for offenses arising under city ordinances. On at least two occasions, Dent County Associate Judge Scott Bernstein has encouraged the parties involved to resolve this matter. On both occasions, City Attorney Camm Seay has stated that the City of Salem will not negotiate. The City of Salem deserves better than a mayor that continues to lie in order to save face.
